Cross-year Learning

Starting school should be easy for all children and so we aim to reduce the risks that every transition period holds. At the start of school children need security and many opportunities to learn new things. Children who have just started school quickly learn from the other children how the school functions. Therefore years 1 and 2 are taught together for a few hours a week.

The older children are confident throughout the school; they know all the procedures and are therefore a good example for the new children. In addition, they also know the methods of work that are applied in the classroom and the rules of conduct that must be observed. So the new children feel supported at school and thereby quickly feel at home. It goes without saying that the staff who teach classes of different ages coordinate their lesson plans with each other.
